"Equal Footing Amendment!"
'Section 1. “Individuals in the United States of America and every place subject to its jurisdiction are on an Equal Footing from the standpoint of equality where the fundamental human rights under the law are not to be denied or abridged on account of sex, gender, race, religious beliefs, origins, immigrant, US or Non-US Citizen.”
As Americans we face an uncertain future but the future we face. Over the course of American history and the rise of our democracy there have been people on every continent who were at one time or another oppressed, even to this day! For reasons that seem insignificant to us the history of moral progress can be measured by the expansion of fundamental human rights to those that have been denied them. It is time for our Democracy to take the next step on the ladder of moral progress and add an Equal Footing Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America!
When people are on an equal footing from the standpoint of equality where the fundamental human rights under the law are not to be denied or abridged by the United States on account of sex, gender, race, religious beliefs, origins, immigrant, US or NON-US Citizen, then there are a lot of benefits to it. For example, people begin to trust each other when they are on equal footing and trust is a very important factor for individuals to thrive, be comfortable, and satisfied with one’s life, and local communities thrive as a result. This is important because the strength and wellbeing of our American Democracy depends on the strength and wellbeing of our local communities! The opposite is also true, mistrust, racial discrimination, inequality between the sexes and gender, isolating groups such as immigrants, disrespecting particular groups of people, all foster mistrust between certain segments of the population, isolating them as a result. It is my belief that we need to pay more attention towards what really matters in Americans individual lives and equality in the population across the board should be at the top of the list. I am not speaking about wealth equality, but equality on the human level, given fundamental rights that shall not be denied or abridged on the account sex, gender, race, religious beliefs, origins, immigrant, US or NON-US Citizen as that is the best and only way to face the uncertainty and difficulties of our future generations to come!
